Welcome to S.M.I.L.E Counselling

S.M.I.L.E Counselling first became constituted on 15th June 2015. Since then the Board of Trustees have worked tirelessly to get the organisation to where it is today. Now we are an official Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation and have begun delivering counselling sessions to local young people. We aim to be able to deliver a bespoke outreach counselling service to young people when they need it most. Our primary goal is to help young people get to a good place in their lives where they feel, Supported, Motivated, Inspired, Leading to self-determination and Empowered to make their own positive choices.

“S.M.I.L.E is so good, my counsellor was really nice and cool. They let me talk about things and we draw pictures and play with cool things. I really like it there”

“I think S.M.I.L.E is greatly beneficial to everyone in the public area. It has a shorter waiting list than CAMHS and so is a faster acting service. This would be a service I would recommend to people I know are having a hard time”

HamishAge 18

“S.M.I.L.E is good as there is usually an 8 week waiting list. It’s also good as its free so it’s good for all types of people”

“S.M.I.L.E has literally been my sanctuary in my darkest times. I have had so many dark thoughts in the past but with S.M.I.L.E I was able to find my way out of this, it feels amazing and I would recommend to anyone to go to S.M.I.L.E. Plus everyone is so nice”

“I think S.M.I.L.E is a good counselling service for any young person if they need someone to talk too. I think it’s good for the age group, as a lot of young people could be affected by self-harm, suicidal thoughts”

“In my experience S.M.I.L.E has given young people a place to talk and feel safe with things they are saying to anyone”
